Five Steps to Protect Ours Wi-fi Connection in Public Hotspot

Free hotspot services is fun because besides not need to spend money, we can also fill our spare time while on the premises. But the downside was there, that we never know how its safety or not.
Places of public hotspots could be found at many places such as malls, office areas, campuses, airports and others. Most of them even provide free services to their hotspot. What we need to provide is a laptop or other devices such as smartphones, which are equipped with the Wi-Fi ability, and then connect it to the available hotspot connections channel. Free hotspot services is fun because besides not need to spend money, we can also fill our spare time while on the premises. But the downside was there, that we never know how its safety or not.

Below are five steps we can do to protect ourselves at public hotspot services :


First, Make Wi-Fi devices do not automatically connected to the network without our consent. By doing this we will ‘conscious’ that we will have been connected to Wi-Fi hotspot.

Second, We Often enabled share feature on our laptop, so when we are in a public hotspot we should disable it.

Third, If we were doing a business transaction or want to share sensitive information we better use a VPN connection.

Fourth, Use firewall software on our laptops both innate Windows firewall software or third parties firewall software.

Fifth, Avoid as much as possible to pay bills or shopping online when we were on hotspot. And use additional hotspots using WPA2 security.
